A Few Words About The Shower
We have a point-of-use tankless water heater and it probably differs from the conventional storage-type water heater (i.e., tank-type heater) you have at home.
Our hot water heater does not store hot water. Instead, water is heated instantaneously as it flows through the unit. Powerful heating elements are activated by a flow switch as water is drawn from a hot water faucet or shower connected to the heater.
To get a good shower, we recommend that you turn the handle to the 12 o’clock position (straight up) and wait about 15 to 20 seconds before you get in.
If the water is too hot, slowly turn the handle about 1/4 of an inch to the right
If the water is too cold, slowly turn the handle about 1/4 of an inch to the left.
As the flow-switch inside the heater controls the amount of time the water is heated, rapid changes in water pressure (and by default, and the temperature of the water coming into the unit) may cause the temperature of your shower to fluctuate. This is normal!
As we are not storing 30 or 40 or more gallons of hot water in the tank like you might be doing at home, the temperature of your shower may ebb and flow (meaning from too hot to warm to cool and back again). Hence, you get a traditional Caribbean shower!
If you don’t have any hot water, please let us know!
