As you leave the ferry terminal in Isabel Segunda, turn right and head toward the bridge.
After you cross the bridge, Cafe Mamasonga (now defunct) and the VQS Emporium will be on your left, St. Voodoo’s Mar Azul will be on your right.
On the way up the hill, you will pass Subway on the right. This is our single concession to American-style fast food.
At the top of the hill, just past the clock tower, you will see the bakery on the left. Panaderia Lydia is a great place for fresh donuts (and other treats) in the morning. Get up early and stand in line!
Go two more blocks straight ahead, paralleling the water, and you will see the Episcopal Church on the right. You can turn left and head up the hill to the next intersection or go straight ahead.
If you turned left, you will see Little Morales (our grocery store) on the corner. It is a large two-story blue building. Buen Provecho (an American-style deli) will be catty-corner in the old (and mostly abandoned) Hotel Carmen. Downtown Isabel Segunda lies before you, and you can see the fort at the top of the hill.
Turn right at this intersection and walk toward the end of the street. Buen Provecho will be on your left, a fenced-in yard will be on your right. Sal del Mar is two blocks down on the right-hand side. If you went straight instead of turning left and going toward the center of town, turn left at the first intersection and take the first right. We will be one block down on the right-hand side!
Look for the two-story blue house, almost at the corner, with the outside stairs leading to the second floor.
Welcome to your new home away from home!
